As per orders of the Delimitation Commission, No. 160 Rashbehari (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Ward Nos. 81, 83, 84, 86 to 90 and 93 of Kolkata municipal corporation.[1]

Rashbehari (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 23 Kolkata Dakshin (Lok Sabha constituency) .[1]

2011

In the 2011 election , Sovandeb Chattopadhyay of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Santanu Bose of CPI(M).

1977-2006

In the 2006 and 2001 state assembly elections, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay of Trinamool Congress won the Rashbehari Avenue assembly seat defeating his nearest rivals Mala Roy of Congress and Sitaram Behani of JD(S) respectively. Hoimi Basu of Congress defeated Ranjan Banerjee of CPI(M) in 1996, Ashim Chatterjee of CPI(M) in 1991, Arun Prokas Chatterjee of CPI(M) in 1987, and Ashok Mitra of CPI(M) in 1982. Ashok Mitra of CPI(M) defeated Ashoke Kumar Mukhopadhyay of Janata Party in 1977. [5]

1957-1972

Lakshmi Kanta Bose of Congress won in 1972 and 1971. Bejoy Kumar Banerjee, Independent, won in 1969, 1967 and 1962. Sunil Das of PSP won in 1957.[6]Prior to that the Rashbehari Avenue seat was not there.
